Wild Striped bass inhabits the US East Coast between Maine and North Carolina. Striper, as it is called, has a cult following with recreational sport fishermen and women on the US East Coast. Interestingly, more Striped bass is harvested by recreational fishermen with rod and reel than by commercial fishing. Like salmon, Striped bass lay their eggs in fresh water lakes and streams, and live their maturing/mature lives in the ocean.
